Can you spot the latest in rainwater harvesting technology? No?
No wonder. It's completely hidden!
Introducing the New Rain X-Change Rainwater Harvesting System
Approximately 80% of urban rainwater runs off into storm sewers versus soaking into the ground. By capturing rainwater before it enters the sewer system, it can be stored, filtered, and accessed for future use on both residential and commercial properties.
-50% of residential water is used outdoors.
-The water coming out of our taps isn't as good for our plants
-and it isn't FREE!
-Using rainwater for gardens and lawns reduces the strain on municipal systems.
-The stored rainwater can help alleviate water shortages during periods of drought.
-Our rainwater harvest system is designed to help recharge precious groundwater reserves.

The system in the photo at the top of this page captures rainwater from the downspout, filters it, and stores 500 gallons underground for use later. In the mean time, the water is recirculated through this decorative fountain making it available to birds and other wildlife. Unlike traditional cistern-based gravity-fed systems, the Rain X-Change also features a supplemental pump that switches on automatically when you want to use the stored water. This allows you to use water in spray nozzles and in conjunction with irrigation systems. The photo below shows a comercial-sized system that stores 2,500 gallons of rainwater underground and circulates it through a pond-less waterfall.
